Prism and Antiprism Generator

This program generates prisms and antiprisms and crossed antiprisms and/or their duals, based on any desired polygon. (However, very large models may be very slow or crash your VRML viewer.) The "numerator/denominator" notation for the underlying polygon is defined on the page about polygons.
    Underlying polygon: /

    Prism
    Dipyramid (Dual to Prism)
    Compound of Prism and Dual

    Antiprism
    Trapezohedron (Dual to Antiprism)
    Compound of Antiprism and Dual

    Crossed Antiprism
Concave Trapezohedron (Dual to Crossed Antiprism)
Compound of Crossed Antiprism and Dual

    Underlying polygon only

Instructions: Type in the desired number of sides, select what to generate, and click the 'view' button. For example, if you choose 15 as numerator, 7 as denominator, and 'antiprism', clicking the 'view' button should produce an attractive antiprism based on the 15/7 polygon in the window above. Make the denominator 1 for an ordinary (uncrossed) polygon.

If you are a programmer, you may like to look at the VRML source code which this page generates to describe an object.
